We held our first annual Philly Spring Clean Up event on Saturday, April 2nd along the Chew and Chelten corridor and surrounding side streets. Our community members and business partners showed up ready to work and what a difference they made! Thank you tremendously for your contributions and making the day a huge success.

A huge THANK YOU to La Salle University and their African-American Student League volunteers. We couldn't have done it without you!

On March 24, 2022, a dream for the Chew and Chelten CDC came true. Douglas Rucker, Executive Director, exchanged the ownership of the legendary John Landis' newsstand at the corner of Chew and Chelten avenues, with Glenda Landis. The newsstand was a long-time staple in the community and represented local business ownership at its finest.

Plans to reimagine the use of the newsstand are underway. The Chew and Chelten CDC will be sure to carry on the Landis legacy. Stay tuned for more!
